Bali Most Visited Places Part 2: Professional surfer's paradise - Uluwatu Cliff
Posted by MyPictures @ Mon 18 Sep, 06, 12:01AM under MyVacation

The famaous Uluwatu Cliff is located at the South West of Bali. It's also a surfer's paradise especially for thoz professional level ones as the wave is much more challenging the those found in Kuta Beach. There is also a temple situated at the top of the cliff. Lot of monkeys as big as triple the size of our Penang Botanical Garden's are wandering that area. Rumors have it said that, these monkeys are specially training to rip of f tourists' sunglasses and hats for in exchange for $$ :) So, beware of your own properties!!! :)

We eventually dropped by the famous Glass House overseeing the blue ocean which is especially built for wedding couples @ Blue Point Bay Villas & Spa Resort. It juz happened that there was a newly wed couple there! Juz imagine, the earth, the sea, the sky and your loved ones come together and witnessing the special moment of yours... How romantic that is!!! I wish that my next wedding ceremony, will be held here :)  Oh yeah, the cheapest rate of this Villas is ~ USD200 per night.

Sorry for my laziness to update this... Please stay tuned, more to come!

Bali most visited places - Part 1: Kuta beach & Jimbaran Bay Beach
Posted by MyPictures @ Fri 18 Aug, 06, 01:51AM under MyVacation

KUTA - where we found the happenings & night life here.  We also window shopped for branded name like D&G/Versace/DKNY/Polo & etc. However, we  could still find cheap wood carving/painting/sourvenirs here @ the art market but this is definitely no place for best bargain...

Kuta's Legian Beach. This is located right opposite of Hard Rock Cafe which was blasted by terrorist @ 2002. This is where the kualou hang up area. Too bad, i purposely went to the beach twice for some spceial "sightseeing" but... sigh, no luck! Maybe the chilling sea breeze was the culprit!!!  TIT Mun, i jealous of u liao...

Surfers' paradise... Kuta beach's gentle wave is most suitable for beginner but not for amateur & pro surfer where they go Uluwatu beach (to be featured next)

Rebuilt Hard Rock cafe. Security has been tighten ever since the terrorist attack.

All the victims' names (~230) was engraved in this special built monument. Majority of the victims (88 ppl) came from Australia. Sad and sympathy face can been seen from the locals who paid a visit there too... : (

The KuaLou Street. This is where the branded shops located. It was still early in the morning. The KuaLou is yet to wake up from the hangover from a fun nite b4.

Bargaining at the art market (Pasar Seni). Trust me, you can get better bargain@ Bedugul market or Nusa Dua's art market!

Alternatively, we went for the biggest shopping mall ie Discovery Shopping Complex for better quality but more expensive stuff there.

Jimbaran Bay - where the romantic couples go for the most spectacular sunset scene...

Jimbaran Bay Beach.  Most famous for its' Ikan Bakar and seafood (but still, Tambun seafood is better than here). We found lotsa restaurants along this bay area. We had our sunset dinner here while enjoying the tiny airplanes taking off and landing on the International Airport (Denpasar) from a distant view. How romantic!

Hawker promoting his Flying SailBoat.

One of the things dat we saw frequently hanging afloat outside many restaurants for prosperity purpose kuah...

The spectacular sunset view!

Romantic dinner did come with live performance with extra $ of course :)

...to be continued!

Bali: Faces of Balinese
Posted by MyPictures @ Tue 15 Aug, 06, 05:26PM under MyVacation

Honey & i went to Bali for our once a year vacation trip during the last whole week. It was a relaxing and eye opening trip, indeed. As i have taken ~ 300 pix over there, I will be updating part by part thru this site.

hmmm... lemme start with the Faces of Balinese first. hope u will enjoy it.

Tampak Siring. This is where the local people go bathing and get the holy water that can heal and bring prosperity to the receiver). I was thinking to get some holy water bak for sicker ddcat but i gave up the idea after looking at the condition of the pool and people there...

Faithful follower queuing for holy water

Father & son after bathing

faithful prayer + notty boy at the background :)

obedient daughter & father praying faithfully for family. I was lucky enough to take these 2 shots above as it is the full moon (mid of the month) sembayang period and the temple is open for all prayers.

2 humble and hard working artists wood carving their masterpiece to be. (they don't call themselve artist but i do). Photos taken @ one of the finest and Wood Carving Center @ Mas village (forgotten  the name liao)

Focus. Focus. Focus. Photo taken @ one of the finest silver smiths @ Celuk village. (again, forgotten the name liao)

Again... Focus. Focus. Focus :) Photo taken @ one of the finest Batik Factory. (u know what i am gonna say here liao)

Another good business day huh? This is taken @ Ubud's one and the only one suckling pig stall. We had our lunch there & juz  imagine, the whole pig was chop chop chop and sold out within 20 minutes!!!

Praying for prosperity. Photo taken @ Kuta's Art Market early in the morning ~ 10:30am

Photo taken during on my way to the waramashit silver factory. This is a combined funeral parade on road... one of the hindunism's 5 beliefs is "Reincarnation" after death. So, you won't see people crying and sobbing when loved ones pass away.

Colorful batik sarong captured on the  kuah lou family visit Uluwatu's Cliff Temple. We have to wear proper attire ie Sarong before we enter any temple @ Bali.

A chicky face by a hindunism follower/student. Photo taken @ Mengwi Taman Ayun temple.

A concerned hawker squating beside roadside selling peanut. Photo taken @ Kuta's famous beach right opposite of the blasted Hard Rock Cafe @ 2002.

Ok, part 2 Bali Trip - Famous places... stay tune for more!

Family Trip
Posted by MyPictures @ Tue 20 Dec, 05, 12:42AM under MyVacation

Photos of our family trip at Lone Pine Hotel, Penang last weekend.

2 days 1 nite stay seemed to me was too short a trip considering the size of the family & activities... Overall, the children, the swimming, X'mas presents, horseback riding, seafood & etc... an exciting & funfilled trip that was except for poor lil' Shaun, spending most of his time in hotel room...

For more details, read on my sis' blog - Family Trip...
